Thermal holographic patterns for ultrasound hyperthermia

چکیده
Holograms can shape wavefronts to produce arbitrary acoustic images. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate how holograms controlled thermal patterns in absorbing media at ultrasonic frequencies. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-compatible holographic ultrasound lenses were designed by time-reversal methods and manufactured using 3D-printing. Several measured MRI thermometry a thermographic camera gelatin-milk phantoms an ex vivo liver tissue. The results show that enable spatially heating regions. Increasing the temperature low-cost MRI-compatible transducers might be of great interest for many biomedical applications, such as hyperthermia, where control specific is needed.

Thermal Analysis of Laser Hardening for Different Moving Patterns
Transient thermal field in laser surface hardening treatment of medium carbon steel was analyzed by employing both three-dimensional analytical model and finite element model. In finite element model the laser beam was considered as a moving plane heat flux to establish the temperature rise distribution in the work-piece, while in analytical model laser beam was considered as an internal heat s...

This study investigates the optimal external parameters for using an ultrasound applicator for treating bone tumors. This system utilized spherically arranged applicators such as scanned focused ultrasound, and spherically focused multielement applicators. The power deposition pattern is modeled as geometric gain with exponential attenuation. The specific absorption rate ratio (SARR) criteria h...

Hyperthermia, the procedure of raising the temperature of a part of or the whole body above normal for a defined period of time, is applied alone or as an adjunctive with various established cancer treatment modalities such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Clinical hyperthermia falls into three broad categories, namely, (1) localized hyperthermia, (2) regional hyperthermia, and (3) whole-body ...

متن کاملThree-dimensional spatiotemporal focusing of holographic patterns
Two-photon excitation with temporally focused pulses can be combined with phase-modulation approaches, such as computer-generated holography and generalized phase contrast, to efficiently distribute light into two-dimensional, axially confined, user-defined shapes. Adding lens-phase modulations to 2D-phase holograms enables remote axial pattern displacement as well as simultaneous pattern gener...
